Lexus is really on top of their game, receiving honors for some of the best-built vehicles currently available and producing new cars that are better than the last. They’re newest announcement to add a brand new GS Coupe for the 2014 model year, and expected to arrive in 2013, has garnered plenty of automotive media attention. This performance-based GS will take the place of the former SC 430 coupe that was discontinued in 2010.
Speculation states that that the new GS coupe will be a two-door quick rider with a rear-wheel-drive layout and midsize proportions. We haven’t been told which drivetrains will be used, though this is the most important aspect when competing with the BMW 6-series and the Mercedes E-Class Coupe. The current GS sedan uses a hybrid V6 which will need to get some upgrades if used for the GS Coupe, though chances are it will get its own turbo-charged engine.
